Personal Data Protection Policy
Toshiba Transport Engineering Inc. ("TRE"), based on our Basic Commitment and
Standards of Conduct, will continue to engage in business activities that
contribute to society, earn the trust of all customers, and meet the
expectations of stakeholders.
Personal data are important customer
asset that should be strictly protected. They are also utilized by TRE
in its efforts to create new values that benefit customers.
TRE handles customers' personal data in accordance with the
following Basic Policy.
1. Basic Policy
- TRE strictly observes the Personal Data Protection Law and other
relevant laws and regulations. TRE has established the TRE
Personal Data Protection Program (the "Program"), which we carefully
implement, maintain, and strive to continuously improve.
- TRE has established management systems relating to personal data
protection and ensures that all corporate officers and employees
recognize the importance of the Program.
- TRE utilizes personal data within the scope of the intended use
clearly informed to customers. TRE does not disclose or provide
personal data provided by customers to third parties except with the
consent of the customer or when there is a legitimate reason.
- TRE maintains personal data accurate and updated and strives to
prevent unauthorized access to personal data or the loss, destruction,
alternation, or unauthorized disclosure of personal data.
- TRE responds to inquiries from customers concerning personal
data or requests from customers for disclosure of personal data
sincerely and without delay.

2. Intended Use of Personal Data
When TRE obtains personal data from customers, TRE clearly
indicates in advance the purpose for which the personal data are intended
to be used and uses the information within the scope of the stated purpose
of use. When the need to use a customer's personal data for any purpose
that goes beyond the stated purpose of use arises, TRE notifies the
customer to that effect and obtain the consent before using the
information for such purpose.
3. Provision of Personal Data
- TRE does not disclose customers' personal data to third parties
except in the following cases.

- Notwithstanding 1 above, when it is deemed that an inquiry from a
customer concerning products, repairs, or service can be more
appropriately responded by a TRE affiliate or distributor, we may
provide the customer's name, address, telephone number and other
information to the affiliate or distributor. In such case, the customer
may request TRE to stop disclosing such information to such
affiliate or distributor.
4. Procedures for Requests for Disclosure
TRE complies with the following requests from customers concerning
the customer's personal data held by TRE : 1) Request for disclosure;
2) Request for notification of the intended purpose ; 3) Request for
correction; 4) Request for addition; 5) Request for deletion; and 6)
Request for cessation of use or cessation of disclosing to third parties.
Please note that there is a fee charged for requests for
disclosure and requests for notification of the intended use.
5. Inquiries Concerning Personal Data
- Customers should direct inquiries concerning their personal data to
the business group with which they have registered the information.
- Inquiries about the Personal Data Protection Policy in general or
inquiries when the point of contact is unclear should be directed to TRE.
6. Other Matters
- This Personal Data Protection Policy applies to personal data held
by Toshiba Transport Engineering Inc. in Japan. The policy does not apply to TRE's
affiliates in Japan or to overseas subsidiaries.
- Please note that some services provided by TRE (including
services offered on websites operated by TRE ) may not be available
if the customer does not provide personal data.
- Children under 16 years should provide personal data only after
obtaining the consent of a parent or guardian.
- TRE may record telephone calls received at customer information
centers and elsewhere to ensure that we listen attentively to comments
or requests from customers.
- TRE uses cookies and web beacons to provide better services on
our websites.
- TRE disclaim any responsibility for the security of customers'
personal data used on third parties' websites that are linked to TRE
websites.
- TRE provides information on important changes and notices on
this page.
- From time to time TRE may revise the Personal Data Protection
Policy to better protect customers' personal data or to comply with
changes in the applicable laws and regulations.
